Six artists give their renditions of classic Keith hits

Apple Music honors the late Toby Keith's indelible mark on country music with a six-song Toby Keith Covered EP. The digital collection features Ashley McBryde, Megan Moroney, Riley Green, Parker McCollum, Ella Langley, and Tucker Wetmore putting their spin on some of Keith's greatest hits for the special Apple Music Nashville Session.

The EP features McBryde on "A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action," Langley taking on "Wish I Didn't Know Now," Moroney covering "Who's Your Daddy?," McCollum on "Who's That Man," Green with "Should've Been a Cowboy," and Wetmore presenting "As Good As I Once Was."

"'A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action' comes from Toby’s first record in 1993. I’m ten, and I’m at an age now where I can pick songs that I listen to,” says McBryde. "When I think of the word ‘honky-tonk’ and what that would sound like, this is one of my references, like Brooks & Dunn would be a reference. Mark Chesnutt would be a reference. Toby Keith is definitely a reference, especially for this song. And then, in my adult life, this song has stayed on my playlist, my bonfire playlist, my go-hang-out-on-a-boat-with-my-friends playlist, or pools or whatever the event is. This is one of my mainstays."

"It is my band's hype song that we play before every single show, so much so that it made it into our preshow playlist," Moroney adds. "It hypes me up, it gets me ready for a show, and it's just iconic."

Keith, who died in February 2024 at the age of 62 following a bout with stomach cancer, rose to fame in 1993 with the release of the self-penned “Should’ve Been A Cowboy.” He released 24 studio and compilation albums and sold more than 40 million albums globally. In his career, he produced more than 60 singles, with 20 topping the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” “How Do You Like Me Now!?,” and “Beer for My Horses” with friend Willie Nelson were among his biggest hits.
