The band will not be rescheduling its final two England performances
Due to illness, Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) canceled its final concert in Birmingham, England. The legendary rocker shared the news on social media on Saturday (July 12th).
"Jeff Lynne is heartbroken to report that he will not be able to perform at tomorrow's BST Hyde Park show," the statement reads. "Jeff has been battling a systemic infection and is currently in the care of a team of doctors who have advised him that performing is simply not possible at this time, nor will he be able to reschedule.
"The legacy of the band and his longtime fans are foremost in Jeff's mind today - and while he is so sorry that he cannot perform, he knows that he must focus on his health and rehabilitation at this time."
Ticket holders will be refunded and contacted directly by their ticket agent with further details.
The band was also forced to cancel a show in Manchester on Thursday at the last minute. Concertgoers were advised of the news moments before the band was to take the stage.
"Unfortunately, due to illness, tonight's (Thursday, 10th July 2025) scheduled performance of Jeff Lynne's ELO at Co-Op Live will not be going ahead," the group writes. "Jeff is devastated he cannot perform this evening. More information will become available as soon as possible. For refunds, please go to your point of purchase."
Both performances were part of the group's Over and Out Tour, marking their final performances together.
eff Lynne was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame last year and the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. The band has always been known for their epic live shows and with a distinct style that seamlessly and innovatively blends rock, pop and classical, ELO has had more than 20 Top 40 Hits across the U.S. and the U.K., making Lynne's sweeping productions some of the most recognizable music of the last forty years and helping sell over 50 million records worldwide.
Widely agreed upon as one of the greatest record producers in music history, Lynne was a co-founder and member of The Travelling Wilburys together with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty, as well as a producer and collaborator with some of the biggest names in music including The Beatles, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Joe Walsh and Bryan Adams.
