The 15-show run wraps this weekend
Kenny Chesney presents his best show yet with his Las Vegas Sphere residency. The 15-date run, which wraps its final show this weekend, features out-of-this world graphics set to the soundtrack of two dozen hits that left fans in awe!
It’s clear to see why the superstar was recently named Billboard’s Top Country Artist of the 21st Century. The East Tennessee native brings his music into the future with insane graphics that complement, and never outdo, the songs themselves with Chesney’s personal touch.
Chesney tells the Wednesday night crowd that the presentation is a “really special way to take you guys on a completely different journey,” of music that spans over two decades. He says he and his six-piece band rehearsed for four to five months for these shows, but the “special sauce” is the fans.
The country superstar’s career is on full display throughout the night. From the collage of posters displayed on the walls as fans enter the arena to the closing “Don’t Happen Twice,” custom animations, video clips, and countless archival photos amaze fans during the two-hour interactive experience.
Fans are treated to a one-of-a-kind opening rollercoaster sequence that was worth the price of admission alone! Disney fans could compare it to Soarin’ Around the World, complete with a few jolts, and surprises.
No guests appeared at this show, which marks the start of closing weekend. However, fans were not disappointed as they were treated with hit after hit while being dismayed by what engulfed them!
One of the biggest applause of the night was during “Get Along.” As Chesney introduced the song, he said “what a concept” as the crowd cheered in agreement to the idea of the two-word phrase.
Chesney barreled through 26-songs in two hours, but it never felt rushed. He stopped multiple times to address the crowd, thanking them for coming to him, and acknowledging its energy.
There are two shows left of the run before it wraps on Saturday, June 21st. While in town, be sure to stop by the Venetian, where fans can see pictures, passes, license plates, handwritten lyrics, instruments and other mementos from two decades of stadium-sized summers on display at the two-story Guitars, Tiki Bars and a Whole Lotta Love exhibit, in partnership with Live Nation’s Vibee. Chesney helped curate the space with his personal collection and stage, bar, and bus replicas. A video showcasing the pop-up is forthcoming as it closes on Sunday.
